Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games anime revealed its first teaser visual and the main voice cast. Ikumi Hasegawa (Bocchi the Rock!, Eighty-Six) stars as Aya Mitsuki and Kana Ichinose (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) stars as Mio Yorue. The anime is slated to release in 2025. The studio and staff handling the anime adaptation are yet to be announced.

The anime is based on a manga series by Eri Ejima. It has been serialized in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Flapper seinen manga magazine since January 2020, with 8 volumes currently available. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English and they describe it as follows:
An over-the-top comedy manga about delicate young ladies indulging in hardcore gaming–inspired a live-action series and an anime! Kuromi Girls’ Academy is a refined, elegant school that expects the very best in deportment from its young ladies. Aya got into this peerless rich-girls’ institution on a scholarship, and hopes to grow as lovely as her fellow student and idol Shirayui. But Shirayui hides a terrible secret: she’s a trash-talking, combo-chaining, newbie-stomping, ruthless hardcore gamer! Could a mutual indulgence in no-holds-barred video game combat grow into a deeper rapport between these two girls?
