DanMachi Author Fujino Omori Comments on Anime & Potential Season 6

A special message from the creator of DanMachi, Fujino Omori, was also released. He thanked fans for the support so far. He also talked about Freya and Syr, joking that fans who want a DanMachi Season 6 should ask the two characters to charm the anime staff into making it. You can read the full message below.

The Norse goddess Freya is known for giving love to many and being loved by many in return. But has she ever truly fallen in love?

That’s the thought I had while researching mythology.

Is it possible for someone to be able to love and be loved, yet never experience romantic love?
Maybe.

After all, she is a goddess—more selfish, more bound by rules than humans, and tasked with loving everyone equally.
Like how we, as middle schoolers, might forget what it means to cherish one special person, she, too, may have lost that feeling along the way.

Freya represents “love,” while Syr represents “romance.”
Freya, long exhausted by love, finally leaned toward romance, leading to the birth of “Syr’s story.”
That is how I see the Goddess of the Harvest Arc.

To put it simply, this is the story of a “first-love monster” who had never fallen in love for millions of years and finally lost control.

And to [Yoshitsugu] Matsuoka-san, who had to endure so much through this—thank you for all your hard work.
[Shizuka] Ishigami-san and [Yoko] Hikasa-san, you were both absolute monsters as well. Thank you so much!

Jokes aside, I am truly happy that we were able to bring Syr’s story, which has been present since DanMachi Season 1, to such a satisfying conclusion.

To all the fans who have followed the series until now—thank you so much.

And if you want to see Season 6, let’s all ask Syr and Lady Freya to charm the anime staff into making it happen!

From Syr.” Syr’s single-minded determination will drive both Bell and the labyrinth city crazy. Meanwhile, the Einherjar, the warriors who claim to be the “strongest,” are now suddenly on the move…
