The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 will premiere on Netflix on April 1, 2025, as revealed on the platform’s Coming Soon tab. The series was teased:
Obsessed with poison and medicine, a servant in the Emperor’s palace draws on her roots as a healer in the red light district to solve mysterious cases.
The Apothecary Diaries‘ arrival on Netflix follows another massively popular Fall 2023 title, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, which premiered on Netflix earlier this month. Both series occupied Anime Corner’s top two spots in our Fall 2023 Anime of the Season rankings, while earlier this week, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, which ranked fourth in the same list, was also revealed to be rolling out on Netflix in select regions.

Netflix Updates Its Anime Library With April Titles, Including The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 & YAIBA
Further upcoming anime heading to Netflix include Moonrise, which received new visual and voice cast information this week. Devil May Cry heads to the platform on April 3.
Meanwhile, just today, VIZ announced that YAIBA: Samurai Legend hits Netflix and Hulu on April 5, 2025. Witch Watch arrives on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll in the same month.
The Apothecary Diaries Series Passes 40 Million Copies in Circulation, Adds 16 Million Since Anime’s Premiere
The Apothecary Diaries adapts the light novel series of the same name, published under Shufunotomo’s “Hero Bunko” imprint. The series released its latest 15th volume in March 2024 and just announced that it had surpassed 40 million copies in circulation in late February 2025 (via Mantan Web).
It becomes the second series originating from a light novel to do so after That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Mantan Web also reported in the same article that The Apothecary Diaries‘ circulation count has added 16 million copies since September 2023, a month before the anime’s premiere.
Crunchyroll first streamed The Apothecary Diaries Season 1, starting October 21, 2023. It currently streams its second season and describes the series:
