Singer-songwriter Dai Hirai performed The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 ending theme song “Shiawase no Recipe (The Recipe for Happiness)” on The First Take. Since the song was written specifically for the series, the YouTube channel describes this unique one-shot performance as exemplifying the heart-warming, lingering feelings of the interwoven relationship of the main characters, Jinshi and Maomao.
On the official website of The Apothecary Diaries, Dai Hirai shared that when he wrote the lyrics for the ending theme, he incorporated his personal feelings about the frustrating relationship between Maomao and Jinshi, and how he hopes that it makes you look forward to what happens in the next week. An anime music video of the song, which included scenes of the pair together so far, was also released last week.
