The previously announced Food for the Soul (Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi) anime revealed a new visual and trailer featuring the main cast and opening theme song on Thursday. The opening theme song “sonna monne” is performed by asmi and can be heard in the latest trailer. The main voice cast consists of:
- Hana Shimano as Maco Kawai
- Ai Kakuma as Kurea Furutachi
- Yoshino Aoyama as Shinon Ogawa
- Natsune Inui as Tsutsuji Higa
- Saya Aizawa as Nana Hoshi
- Azuki Moeno as Mokotaro
Shinya Kawatsura (Non Non Biyori) and Yu Harumi (The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie) are directing together the new anime at studio P.A. Works (Shirobako). Hajime Mitsuda (Kiratto Pri☆Chan) is adapting Atto’s character designs for the anime and also serves as the chief animation director.
Yoshihiro Hiki (Akiba Maid War) is overseeing the series scripts. Takeshi Takadera (Oshi no Ko) is credited as the sound director while Hiromi Mizutani (Non Non Biyori) is composing the music.
The original anime follows the day-to-day life of five girls who have just entered college. They love delicious food, want to have lots of fun with everyone and try to study a little harder.
