The Spring 2025 anime season is almost here with winter coming to a close. And with that, there are a ton of new anime to watch. That being said, we’re going to diverge from the upcoming season’s most popular anime—Fire Force Season 3, Wind Breaker Season 2, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, etc.
This will be a list of 10 anime, and one surprise at the end, for the Spring 2025 season that fans may not want to overlook when checking off their watchlist. Let the spring fever hit you as hard as the pollen and step out of your comfort zone with these potentially great anime.
Release date: April 5
Yaiba is the next in line of older anime getting a modern remake following others such as Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, and Rurouni Kenshin—and the production for the series has been an eye-turner in the trailers. The series originally aired in 1993 for 52 episodes and is now back with a loaded production staff and voice cast.

Studio MADHOUSE has been on a roll recently dishing out gems such as Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth. Now, they’re back giving fans an adult comedy-mystery anime based on the novel series by Tokuya Higashigawa with three stellar cast members that everyone loves voicing the main characters.

An original anime series from WIT Studio that has been in the making since 2018—one that has received little to no marketing despite airing next month. Just like the original anime from the 1970s, Anne Shirley is based on the famous novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Despite The Answer Studio’s latest blunder with Tower of God, the production looks fantastic and even brings back some classic scenes from the 1970s anime. A prequel to the main story was also released in 2009 titled Before Green Gables.

Technically not an “anime,” To Be Hero X could possibly become the next hit donghua since Link Click. After releasing a six-minute trailer in 2024, To Be Hero X could grab fans’ attention as the season progresses thanks to its unique style and possibly the best Japanese voice cast of the entire Spring 2025 anime season.
To Be Hero X even has some of the anime industry’s top music composers, including the legendary Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan). He’ll be joined by Kohta Yamamoto (86 Eighty-Six) and DAIKI, who all composed music for the wonderful recent sci-fi original anime Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms.
