What’s The Apothecary Diaries About?
One day, Maomao’s peaceful life is beaten down when she’s kidnapped and sold as a maid to China’s imperial court. There she hides her intimate fanaticism of medicine to avoid any potential repercussions. But when an illness begins affecting the royal family, Maomao tries to secretly reveal what’s happening. Unfortunately for her, renowned ladies’ man and inner court manager Jinshi quickly deduces Maomao’s abilities. And through that, he comes to constantly rely on her medical and cognitive expertise, much to her annoyance.
The Apothecary Diaries anime adapts the light novel by Natsu Hyuuga (illustrations by Touko Shino). Studio OLM and TOHO Animation animate both seasons of the anime. Crunchyroll streams season one of The Apothecary Diaries and simulcasts season two.
