Eureka Seven anime is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special commemorative project, revealing a special visual and trailer as part of the announcement. The new key visual was drawn by character designer Kenichi Yoshida, while the promotional video features the first season’s opening theme “DAYS” by FLOW.
The series originally aired on April 17, 2005. Since its debut, it got numerous other adaptations, including the 2009 movie Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows, the 2012 sequel Eureka Seven AO, and the three-part movie series Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution, which ran from 2017 to 2021. Now, two decades after its initial launch, the franchise is set to engage fans with new anniversary projects and events.

Cast Comments on 20 Years of Eureka Seven
To mark the occasion, Yuko Sanpei, the voice actor for protagonist Renton Thurston, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the series’ enduring legacy:

Kaori Nazuka, who has voiced Eureka since the show’s beginning, reflected on the past two decades and the impact the series has had on her life:
“Back then, I was 20 years old… 20 years since I was born until I met Eureka. And 20 years since I met Eureka… Over these past 20 years, I have seen so many things I never imagined. These 20 years of walking together, fighting together… When I look back, it’s all been happiness. I am truly grateful.”
Streaming and Broadcast Announcements
In celebration of the milestone, Eureka Seven will be available for unlimited streaming across various platforms in Japan starting April 1 at midnight. From April 7, the series will also begin airing on the Disney Channel.
Events and Merchandise
On March 23, a special stage event titled Eureka Seven 20th Anniversary Special Talk Show will take place at the Bandai Namco Group booth during AnimeJapan 2025. The event will feature appearances by Yuko Sanpei, Kaori Nazuka, and producer Masahiko Minami.
The celebrations will later include a special collaboration at FLOW THE FESTIVAL 2025, an anisong rock festival hosted by FLOW on June 14-15 in Kanagawa, Japan. Attendees will be able to purchase exclusive Eureka Seven-themed merchandise at the event, with the product lineup set to be announced during the AnimeJapan 2025 talk show.
Eureka Seven Background
Eureka Seven, also known as Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven (Kokyoshihen Eureka Sebun), is a 2005 Japanese anime series created by BONES. The series was directed by Tomoki Kyoda, with series composition by Dai Sato, character designs by Kenichi Yoshida and music by Naoki Sato. The 50-episode TV anime aired on MBS between April 2005 and April 2006.
Besides the anime adaptations, the series has six manga adaptations, a light novel, and three video games. One of the manga, Eureka Seven: AO, was serialized in Monthly Shonen Ace between January 2012 and October 2013. It was an adaptation of the anime of the same title, which aired for 24 episodes between April and November 2012. While based on the anime, the manga featured some differences in its storyline and character developments.
