Sony Pictures announced on X (formerly Twitter) that MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc anime movie will be released internationally in U.S. theaters beginning October 29, 2025. The Chainsaw Man release date comes just a month after the movie premieres in Japan on September 19. The Japanese release date was announced at AnimeJapan 2025, which saw the release of several new visuals that can be seen at the link above. Chainsaw Man also received an epic trailer at Jump Festa 2025 last year, surprising fans with its altered art style and bombastic fight sequences. The trailer grossed 19 million views in just 24 hours; Wistoria: Wand and Sword director Tatsuya Yoshihara was announced as the new director of the Chainsaw Man film, replacing Ryu Nakayama.
Crunchyroll licensed the first season of Chainsaw Man, directed by Nakayama at MAPPA. The story for the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc movie is described:
Denji became “Chainsaw Man,” a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc‘s release date date is set for September 19 in Japan and October 29 in the U.S. 80+ countries internationally will screen the film starting September 24. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures are distributing the film overseas.
